What People Are Saying

“Upon visiting Optical Reflections, I was greeted warmly. I showed them my glasses that were broken in half at the bridge and within 10 minutes they found a compatible frame for my lenses…
You can’t find better service than this .”

— Kylila Rice

“Best place I've ever been to get glasses. The care is thorough, and time is spent to make sure everything is right the first time! I've been a loyal customer for 18 years!”

— Jen Kaizen

Fred B. Conner Jr.

[Founding Optician]

A native of Chapel Hill, (just ask him where his family farm was located!). Fred has been a local optician and business owner since the early 70’s. Known for his humor, incredible memory and deep care and compassion, his loyal customers return year after year. When he isn’t helping people see, he runs a beautiful farm in Orange County with his amazing wife where they entertain their two daughters, their two sons- in law and five wildly wonderful grandkids.

Todd Jones

[Optician]

Todd hails from Mississippi but after 20+ years in Chapel Hill, we Tar Heels claim him as our own. As a life long glasses wearer, Opticianry was a natural calling. Gifted at choosing just the right frame for anyone’s face, Todd’s technical skill is nicely balanced with his sense of style. When he isn’t busy making people feel cool he plays the role of super-daddy to five funny kids and husband to a very adoring red-head - not to mention son-in-law to Fred!

Bob Durham

[Optician]

Bob has been serving the eyes of Chapel Hill since 1982 (what a year! Go Heels!). He previously owned two optical shops and has dispensed more frames and lenses than he could possibly count. He is a people-person through and through and excellently skilled at helping patients find the perfect pair of glasses. When he isn’t busy at work you will find him eating at Squids, cheering on the Tarheels or at the beach with friends.

David Lane

[Optician]

A Tarheel born and bred, David has lived in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area his entire life. He graduated UNC in 1978 with a degree in education before hearing Opticianry calling. David has cared for thousands of patients since 1980. When he isn’t serving the optical needs of the community, David spends time with his wife of 45 years, their daughter, and her family.
